Savegre River White Water Rafting Class III Rapids
Safe fun for family and perfect for first timers, imagine the excitement learning to shoot whitewater rapids in the renown Savegre River led by safety trained rafting experts. The 80-minute road trip to the rafting site offers picturesque views of African palm plantations, little towns, small rivers and jungle.
After safety instructions and time to practice you are ready to board the 6-passenger rafts.
Starting slowly, easily maneuvering through Class ll rapids, you’ll gain confidence as you work your way up with guidance through Class lll then Class lV waters, finding the thrill and excitement of navigating this beautiful watercourse.
Your guide will stop at pristine places where you can break to swim and take in breathtaking waterfalls. Winding along the river in this primary rainforest environment your knowledgeable guide will point out the abundant wildlife found in this protected area. Local species of interest to birding enthusiasts include: ospreys, egrets, parrots, toucans, cormorants, and kingfishers, to name a few.
Each raft has a guide who will provide instructions during journey, and for additional safety, a kayaker will accompany the group close by.
Savegre River Whitewater Rafting offers II and III class rapids, its bends and turns offering adrenaline and excitement.
During your 2 ½ hour trip you will also have opportunities to admire exuberant flora and abundant fauna around you, floating down and even hopping off your rafting to swim in calmer waters.
Once back at base camp after a shorter 30-minute ride, you’ll be able to dry off, change into fresh clothes and enjoy a delicious meal.
